After reading through the custom rules here I see just about anyone can specialize. Do the other classes have to surrender any abilities or is just a given? If other classes can specialize, can they also go to mastery and so forth? I ask because that's really all fighters have...specialization. If everyone can do it, what's the point of a fighter? I would really be interested about just what the priests have to give up for their ability to specialize and use any weapon? I mean I haven't noticed any drawbacks for being a priest with these added benefits?

When you build a character using the character point system, you can take the option to specialize. So it is a draw back, for example, a cleric spends 25 character points to be allowed to specialize in a single weapon. That is the same as 2 major access spell spheres and a minor. Since the points are limited that is a drawback.
Also warriors are the only ones that can specialize in multiple weapons.
